Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the PAAT website (pa-at.org), including the online membership certification application form.

This website is run by the Professional Association of Assistive Technologists CIC (PAAT). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not yet fully accessible:

  • When a form fails validation, an error message appears at the top of the page without a clear visual indication at the specific field that needs attention, and without focus moving to that field. Screen reader users are not taken directly to the error. We are working to fix this.

Feedback and contact information

If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please use our website feedback page or email us at info@pa-at.org.

If you need information on this website in a different format such as accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille, please contact us using the details above. We will consider your request and get back to you as soon as we can.

Technical information about this website's accessibility

PAAT is committed to making its website accessible and aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility guidelines

The membership application form does not handle validation errors in a fully accessible way. When a field fails validation, the error message appears at the top of the page but focus is not moved to the relevant field, and the error is not clearly associated with the field programmatically. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 3.3.1 (Error Identification) and 3.3.3 (Error Suggestion). We are actively working to fix this.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

We are continuing to test and improve the website as it develops. We will update this statement when issues are resolved.
